We created a digital experience that allowed users to express why they surfed. This website contained high resolution videos and images featuring Billabong's top surfers. Users could select a clip, then use the website’s UI to capture their favourite moment, and write their ‘I Surf Because’ statement.
Each personalised image was made available for download, and could easily be shared on Facebook and Twitter.
The campaign came full circle, when submissions from around the world helped inspire the late, great, 3 x world champion Andy Irons to his final ever WCT event win at Teahupoo in 2010.
